Our spectacular summer term has been spent learning all about the Egyptians. We have really enjoyed it. Some of our highlights are below:
This was our class assembly where we performed a play all about the journey of Pharaoh Khufu to the afterlife, with songs of course!
Enjoying the sunshine with some practical perimeter work.
Problem solving on the paddock.
Shared reading of our class novel “There’s a Pharaoh in our Bath” out on the paddock.
Team building work in the den area. We managed to get everyone safely across the river of lava.
Year 3 Hoopstarz!
Oh yes we can tell the time to the nearest minute.
Creative writing in the sunshine.
Planting rocket, yum yum!
Spring is here, this term the children are learning all about Super Spennymoor and Divine Durham.
The children will be developing their history and geography skills this term learning about their local area. They will be exploring the history of coal mining in the area, looking at the art of Norman Cornish and will be beginning their weekly swimming lessons on a Wednesday afternoon. Watch out for updates of our achievements which will be added below.
Check out our recent visit to Spennymoor Police Station where we had a great time exploring and finding out how the police help us and keep us safe.
We visited the Durham Mining Museum at Spennymoor Town Hall and loved learning about our mining heritage.
Images to be added soon.
We have been off to a flying start this term in Year 3. Autumn term is all about Stone Age to Iron Age British history. Have a look at our highlights below:
Our Stone Age Day was a success. We enjoyed building our shelters like the prehistoric hunter gatherers, even though we had tarpaulin instead of animal skins.
