Our topic for Summer Term is Holidays.
In Summer 2 we will be finding out about holidays in the UK and non-European countries such as Sri Lanka. We will focus on the similarities and difference between the locations.
We found out about Grace Darling. We continued the seaside theme in Literacy basing our work around ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’.
We thought about what we would do at the beach and how would stay safe.
Article 19 – All children have the right to be safe.
Article 31 – All children have the right to play and relax.
Everyone in Year 2 took part in a recent football festival at Alun Armstrong Football Centre. We were all really proud of the teamwork and resilient attitude that the children showed on the afternoon.
This experience allowed children to identify different animals and minibeasts from around the world. During the workshop children had the opportunity to see, touch and handle animals. This helped us all understand more about the different features they have.
We all learnt a lot of interesting facts about minibeast!
The Christmas Journey.
Everyone in Year Two really enjoyed our visit to the Methodist church. We all listened to familiar stories and enjoyed the learning walk where we explored different aspects of the Christmas Journey.
