As part of our Viking and Anglo-Saxons topic this term we visited Palace Green library at Durham University. The children were Vikings and Anglo Saxons. Workshops involved object handling and quizzes, dressing up as monks, learning about the Lindisfarne gospels, a gallery quiz in the museum. Kennings (Viking poetry) and making a rune stone with scraper foil.
We have had the opportunity to develop our fitness and confidence with boxing sessions. It’s been a huge hit!
Olympic Swimmer Chris Cook
Year 4/5 enjoyed working with Olympic swimmer Chris Cook to develop their resilience and determination.
Year 4/5 are having lots of fun learning to play the Djembe drums. We have the right to learn new skills!
This term we have been learning about different religions including Sikhism. We have explored the beliefs of Sikhs and how these beliefs can be expressed. We had lots of interesting questions for our special visitor Cloud Singh which helped us learn lots about the religion.
Journey into Space
We thoroughly enjoyed our Journey into Space workshop and had lots of fantastic questions to keep our expert from Durham University on his toes.
Computing with Mircobits
